metaphor of life

On this, the infamous day of grounded hogs, it seems apropos to ruminate on the meaning of life, what the French call deja vu.

I’m referencing one of my favorite movies, Groundhog Day, in which a media person lives the same day over and over again. Or, perhaps the Circle of Life (ala The Lion King).

If you are one of those lucky people who just live their life without trying to extract meaning, I envy you, and you will want to skip my drudgery.

I am of the sub-species who analyze occurrences, desperately trying to extract meaning so as to exit the merry-go-round of life. Today I am on to the various endurances of cyclical life patterns (daily, weekly, yearly, decade-ly, life-long).

While I can identify patterns (as all good family therapists are trained to do), I am still searching for the magically illuminated road forward in which one can avoid those traffic circles of life.

As I anticipate enlightening insights into the human condition, my popcorn is calling me to begin my movie watching

[inspiration for the above: While it is my privilege to share my birthday with santa claus, my more fortunate brother gets to share with the infamous groundhog.]
