(continuing the one word saga)

Thrilled at the simplicity of choosing just one word to explore for the year, it seemed prudent to consult a dictionary. Whereupon, my enthusiasm nose-dived as I counted 48 possible definitions for “light.” Who knew? (16 nouns, 9 verbs, 21 adjectives and 2 adverbs).

Stunned at this revelation, my eyes glazed over the next section (synonyms, proper sentence usage, etymology…)

But then, a mental lightbulb flashed. Copying all this disclosure will fill many pages in the special, empty, intimidating diary I was instructed to buy.

Sigh of relief. Being clever on my everyday “light” hunt is delayed.
