A situation came up and I took a break from blogging – until today, when I read the following in my devotional, followed by the daily verse app.
“Come unto Me and I will give you rest.” “Not–I will put you to bed and hold your hand and sing you to sleep; but –I will get you out of bed, out of the languor and exhaustion, out of the state of being half dead while you are alive; I will imbue you with the spirit of life, and you will be stayed by the perfection of vital activity” (My Utmost for His Highest (Oswald Chambers, 1935).
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10)
We are created by God’s work of verbal artistry (the Greek word is poetry). We don’t create ourselves, but we control whether good works will flow out from us towards others. We are in a partnership with God, His works prepared and ready for us to do (YouVersion Bible App June 10th: Verse of the Day & Tim Mackie, Bible Project).
AND
I keep coming across people who have retired and re-imagined their lives. So, by the grace of God, I am inspired today to continue viewing life as a grand adventure.
