….unto the breach
It’s Monday morning, I lollygag in bed. For some strange reason, I jump up to check on my sunglasses, discovering they are missing. Memory floods – left behind yesterday at the community mailboxes. Dressing quickly, prayer they remain; low and behold, there they are.
Self-berating stops, a smile comes, and I thank God for giving me the courage and energy to get out and walk and face my limited vision future once more…..
[rant against google and ai] As I search for this line quoted by actors, I cannot make the search engine bend to my will as it keeps popping up things I don’t want. Deep breath and a little mediation propels me on.
I cannot find the actors, whom I know I have heard delivering this line. I did however find:
Historical Background
– The famous line from Shakespeare re: King Henry V’s rousing battle cry to his soldiers to breach enemy defenses, a difficult assault on the French city of Harfleur.
– Winston Churchill’s famous speech predicting England’s finest hour, not knowing what will happen with the French during WWII.
– A fiction film created with archive materials shot during WWII, winning an European Film Award.

– Some beautiful lyrics (apparently there are multiple ones, but google search is not cooperating)
Life is like a big merry-go-round,
You’re up and then down, ….
.…. You might fall on your face,
But you gotta get up!
I’d rather stand tall
Than live on my knees,
‘Cause I am a conqueror,
And I won’t accept defeat!
Try telling me no,
