christmas birthdays

Christmas birthdays provide a much needed break from all the red and green, seasonal cards, festive desserts, repeating carols, all the rushing, etc.

Celebrated in the afternoon with a proper birthday cake, properly themed wrapping paper, happy birthday songs, and more gifts, I’ve always loved my special birth date, sharing a birthday with Jesus (finding out much later He wasn’t born in our December). Plus, I had more presents under the tree than my siblings.

And if you’re lucky enough to have a sister who sends you perfect birthday gifts, you get some wisdom to ponder (this year in a sunflower themed box):

“Especially for you!”
“In the world full of roses, be a sunflower”
“Every time you look at a sunflower, the whole world starts to smile”
“To see a world in a grain of sand, And heaven in a wildflower”
“God says you are: Unique, Special, Lovely, Precious, Strong, Chosen”

Just for fun, I’ve added my 1/2 birthday, June 25th. And now I’ve gathered up friends who have December birthdays to join me. I am thinking of expanding to those of you who have January birthdays (I understand people have run out of money as they are paying off their Christmas presents). Feel free to join us!
