Most of my life I’ve loved to travel, to experience new things; nature, natural formations, people, cities, architecture, art, zoos, etc. I was so looking forward to retirement, teaching web classes part time funding my expeditions.
All of that came to a screeching halt, through a series of life changing events. Still dealing with the deep disappointment, I’m beginning to accept reality.
It starts with reading travel books, a genre I had not experienced before. Add in travel programs, rarely satisfying in my experience, but some placating my wanderlust.
A glimmer of hope emerged experiencing my first zoom class (see previous post), A Virtual Tour Down the Colorado River, through the grand canyon, with a geologist. The class was immensely satisfying, beauty and explanation of rock formations – the perfect blend of culture, nature, rafting experiences, photography from all angles.
So, with a renewed sense of hope, my adventurous self looks forward to:
– California Condors: Forever Free
– The Behavior & Physiology of Desert-Adapted Animals
– Young Canyon, Old Rocks
– Retracing the Footsteps of Martha Summerhayes in the Arizona Territory
– Arizona Public Lands & the Impact of Arizona Nature Heroes
– Exploring Ancient Cultures of Central Arizona
– Woodstock 1969

I’ll keep you posted as my armchair adventures progress.
