it’s over

This all started when I noticed a blinking red light by my bed in the middle of the night. The warning light signaled my heating pad had given up the ghost.

This was a very sad occasion, as my well-worn heating pad provided comfort through multiple cross country moves, as well as physical and emotional crises, including the following:
– addition of titanium femur (which will be worth something to somebody when I no longer need it)
– neck cyst removal in which nerves were severed
– multiple eye surgeries
– teeth and gum treatments
– teenagers and adult children woes
– caring for mother and her passing
– back strains
– enthusiastic yoga poses
– etc.

Goodbye old friend. Your replacement just isn’t the same, I suppose due to new safety guidelines reducing heat output.

This is rather sad, so I will leave you with the following. Typing in “heating pad” to my favorite royalty free pictures site, this is what I was treated to. Maybe you can find some live ones to enjoy!
