…. on a Friday morning
The saga begins with my morning hair appointment.
I repeatedly push the garage opener button, with no results. Running late, in a bit of a panic, I find a text alerting me to a power outage.
Not to worry, I know from past experiences, pull the orange cord, and now I can manually raise the slightly heavy door. I back out and as I am quite short, I get a step stool so I can pull the door down.
Of course there is construction, but I arrive and find a place to park.
Did I mention I was fighting some vertigo? I begin the process, get my hair washed and my expert hairdresser (I’ve been informed that is the correct terminology) gets the scissors and comb out. Then, he says, “Pardon me, I need to sit down, I’m feeling dizzy.”
After a few pauses to sit down, he returns to tell me, his wife got their meds mixed up & instead of superstrength Tylenol, she gave him her potent drug. We joke a bit as he is getting used to his altered state of functioning.
I return home, keep pushing the garage door opener, with no results, until my memory clicks in – the power is still off. I will have to use the front door, oh dear, I don’t have the keys…..
Eventually I am able to enter my residence, get my chai tea latte, sit down to do some writing and reading, whereupon, I hear this weird loud gurgling sound coming from the laundry room. It’s coming from the water softener. Having no idea what is going on, I desperately search for the manual, give up, shut the door and wait for another flooding to call the plumber – he needs to fix my other leaks – a story for another day.
Then, I notice weird noises coming from my fish and plant fountain. I just unplug all of filters and pumps.
My tea is cold, I drink it anyway, filled with hope, “a feeling of expectation and desire for something good to happen” throughout the rest of my day.
My wish for you is that your hopes be fulfilled with good things throughout this weekend!
