clouds

Everywhere I’ve lived before, clouds were a common part of life, but here where I live in the Southwest, clouds are a rarity, the days filled with sunshine.

This morning I look up from my patio and see clouds. Becoming mesmerized, I spend close to an hour just watching the clouds float by. Little bits of fluffy cotton. Transporting me to another world.

It’s peaceful. A little stream of consciousness as I am thinking, “How are you dad? Everything’s all right. Things are as they should be. Look at the big picture. Be the light and peace for others to see.”

I engage in what I passed to my children, what my creative mother showed me, the clouds make shapes: dragons, hearts, swans, boats, whales.

And, when the sun rays shine through, I told my children, “That’s God saying to you, ‘I love you!‘”

May you take some time to gaze at the clouds and may you be lucky enough to see the sun’s rays and know deep in your heart that you are loved.
